CCPT Local 373 Delegates to the Council 40 2010 Convention

The following Local 373 members have been nominated to be Delegates representing CCPT Local 373 at the Council 40 2010 Convention in Madison, Wisconsin: Diana Smith Anneliese Sheahan Terrie Stinski Peggy Kelbel These delegates have been determined by mail in nominations. These nomination were received by the extended due date of March 2, 2010. Since the number of nominees does not exceed the number of delegates that Local 373 is entitled to, no election is necessary. These above mention members will represent Local 373 at the 2010 Council 40 Convention once they have accepted their nomination. The deadline for declining or challenging the eligibility for any nominee is March 8th, 2010. Membership in good standing has been verified for all of the above mentioned candidates.

Revisons to Child Care Election and Delegate Deadlines!

Hello Fellow CCPT Members! We would like to apologize for the delay in our last Newsletter mailing. In order to save membership dues we sent our last mailing via bulk mail. However, this mailing contained time sensitive information regarding Election and Delegate deadlines. Therefore, please review the revised delegate and election attachment. The revised deadline to submit CCPT delegate nominations to the Council 40 convention has been extended to March 2nd, 2009. Respectively all other CCPT C-40 delegate deadlines have also been extended. Click here to review revisions

Updates to the New Caregiver Background Check Law!

The following new law goes into effect on February 1st 2009. This will affect all Family Child Care Programs! Changes to Frequency of Background Checks: - Licensee – Under the provisions of the new law, the department will conduct a caregiver background check on all licensees every 3 months (4 times a year). A caregiver background check fee will be charged for each background check ($10 X 4 = $40 per year). Licensees will be notified when to submit a background check fee and the amount that must be submitted.
- Household members – The Department will run the caregiver background check on all adult household members at least one time each year. Licensees will be notified when to submit a background check fee for any household members.
- Employees – Centers will be required to complete a caregiver background check on all employees at least one time each year. The fees for a caregiver background check completed by the licensee will remain the same.
Additionally the list of convictions has changed. Many convictions are no longer subject to rehabilitation review. Several types of convictions that were not previously listed have been added.
